A reworked 100% cotton cadet cap featuring layered textile and metal details. Distressed black mesh panels are appliquéd onto the cap and combined with silver-tone hardware, chain detailing, and square studs. An adjustable back strap allows for a flexible fit.

The chain motif forms a subtle “XXX” shape, referencing Amsterdam’s historic symbol. Additional details include a distressed black denim Brontë label and visible layers of reclaimed materials, giving the cap a raw, assembled-by-hand character.

Each piece is individually made using rescued fabrics and remnants from previous projects. As a result, slight variations in materials, distressing, and detailing may occur, making every cap unique.

How it's made / curated

Each cap begins as a 100% cotton cadet cap sourced in small quantities and reworked by Brontë in her Amsterdam atelier. By using existing garments alongside leftover materials from previous projects, each piece incorporates elements that might otherwise go unused.

For this style, distressed mesh panels are shaped and sewn onto the cap by hand. Metal hardware, chain detailing, and studs are then individually attached to create texture and structure across the surface.

The chain arrangement forms an “XXX” motif inspired by Amsterdam’s historic symbol, while the Brontë label is cut from reclaimed black denim and distressed before being applied as a finishing detail.

Because each cap is assembled by hand using reclaimed materials, slight variations in distressing, fabric placement, and hardware details may occur, making every piece unique.
