A classic 100% cotton T-shirt featuring the statement “SLUTS ARE PEOPLE TOO” (by Lente, Brontë’s sibling) in a bold, military-inspired stencil graphic. The design combines protest-sign aesthetics with dark humor, transforming a loaded word into a direct statement of humanity and acceptance.

Simple in construction but unapologetic in message, the piece is designed to spark conversation while challenging stigma. The oversized stencil lettering gives the graphic a raw, utilitarian feel that contrasts with the sentiment it carries.

Each T-shirt is individually hand-painted by Brontë using stencil techniques. Slight variations in the artwork and paint application are a natural part of the process, making every piece unique.

How it's made / curated

Each T-shirt begins as a thrifted 100% cotton garment, carefully sourced by Brontë and selected for its quality and character. By repurposing existing clothing, each piece is given a second life and diverted from waste.

In her Amsterdam atelier, the graphic is applied by hand using custom-cut stencils and textile paint. Every garment is individually painted, ensuring a hands-on approach throughout the process.

The stencil technique creates the bold military-inspired lettering while allowing subtle variations in texture and finish from piece to piece.

Because the T-shirts vary and are hand-painted, slight differences in the artwork and garment may occur, making each piece one of a kind.
