Her Story

Brontë Adoree was founded in 2025 by fashion designer Bronte Schleppi, originally from Los Angeles and now based in Amsterdam. From an early age, she enjoyed working with her hands, experimenting with clothing, and creating pieces that felt different from those around her. Fashion became a form of emotional expression, a way to make clothing feel human, authentic, and alive rather than trend-driven or disposable. The brand was established after she graduated from FIT NYC, with a vision rooted in authenticity, conscious consumption, and self-expression.

Today, Brontë Adoree focuses on cut-and-sew and reconstructed garments designed to carry individuality, character, and emotion, with the belief that clothing should reflect the uniqueness of the wearer.

"Each piece is made to become unique to the wearer, evolving alongside them and forming a story that grows more meaningful over time.”

Craftsmanship

Brontë creates one-of-a-kind handmade pieces, from shirts and skirts to ties and hats; some pieces are reconstructed, some are made from scratch. The brand is known for its graphics, each carefully created to capture a feeling or embody a character, and hand-painted onto garments—ensuring no two pieces are alike. She also produces limited cut-and-sew garments made from locally sourced and deadstock materials, as well as made-to-order pieces tailored to individual measurements. The brand embraces the idea that every body is different, and that clothing should reflect that individuality rather than conform to standardised sizing.

Each garment is designed to be worn in, not worn out—embracing signs of wear, imperfections, and individuality as part of its character, creating pieces that feel personal and lived-in.

"Visible wear, repairs, and imperfections are embraced as part of a garment’s story, a badge of character."

Sustainability

Brontë approaches sustainability as an evolving practice. The brand primarily works with deadstock fabrics and pre-owned garments, giving existing materials a new life. Leftover scraps are repurposed into details for caps and ties, ensuring minimal waste.

Some pieces are currently made using sourced basics to keep the work accessible across different price points, helping to fund a gradual shift toward a more sustainable production model. The goal is a fully closed-loop fashion practice where nothing is wasted and every material is used with intention.

Highlights

Brontë has built a growing community through collaborations and pop-ups, including at Urban Outfitters, The Creative Lab, and various curated markets. These experiences have helped shape a network around the brand that continues to grow and evolve. She remains deeply grateful for the spaces and people that have supported the work so far.
