An oversized acid-wash T-shirt crafted from 100% cotton. Panels of distressed black fabric are layered and stitched across the garment in an asymmetrical composition, creating a worn, textured appearance that evolves over time.

Designed to age with the wearer, the distressed fabric may continue to fray and develop with use. Rather than being flaws, these changes are an intentional part of the garment’s character, allowing the piece to become more individual through wear.

Rooted in the idea of wearing clothes in rather than out, the design embraces imperfection, repair, and transformation. As the fabric shifts and softens over time, the marks of wear become part of the garment’s story.

How it's made / curated

Each T-shirt begins as a 100% cotton acid-wash garment sourced in small quantities. Working with limited stock allows Brontë to create small runs rather than mass-produced pieces.

In her Amsterdam atelier, sections of fabric are individually distressed by hand before being cut apart and sewn onto the T-shirt. The layered panels are carefully arranged to create an asymmetrical, textured composition unique to the design.

The distressed fabric is intended to evolve with wear, allowing frayed edges and openings to develop further over time. Rather than being flaws, these changes form part of the garment’s character and reflect the brand’s philosophy of wearing clothes in, not out.

Because every piece is handmade, slight variations in placement, texture, and finish may occur, making each garment one of a kind.

Care

Wash inside out at 30°C in a delicates bag with similar delicate items to prevent the distressed fabric from catching.
