A reworked cotton cadet cap featuring layered textures, distressed finishes, and reclaimed materials. The tan base is marked with worn black paint and overlaid with an asymmetrical panel of distressed black cotton, creating contrast through both color and texture.

Triple zipper remnants span the front of the cap, introducing an industrial element, while a hand-painted ghost graphic appears along the side. The Brontë signature is painted directly onto the cap as a finishing detail.

Combining soft wear, exposed construction, and found materials, the cap balances utility-inspired details with a raw, handmade character. Because each piece is individually reworked by hand, slight variations in distressing, paintwork, and fabric placement may occur.

How it's made / curated

Each cap begins as a cotton cadet cap sourced in small quantities and reworked by Brontë in her Amsterdam atelier. Existing materials and remnants from previous projects are incorporated wherever possible, extending the life of textiles that might otherwise go unused.

For this design, distressed black cotton is cut and layered asymmetrically over the cap by hand. Worn black paint is applied to create an aged appearance, while reclaimed zipper remnants are incorporated across the front as both a structural and decorative element.

The ghost graphic and Brontë signature are painted directly onto the cap by hand, making each piece slightly different from the next. Because every cap is assembled individually, variations in paintwork, distressing, and fabric placement are a natural part of the process.
