In ceramics we often seek perfection. That’s we wanted to experiment with imperfection. Hannah created these vases on the throwing wheel and later pushed the shapes into the vase while throwing.

How it's made / curated

This stoneware vase is made on the throwing wheel by Hannah in our ceramic studio in De Pijp, Amsterdam. Each vase is 100% handmade and unique. The vase had to dry before it was fired in our kiln the first time around 1000 degrees. After it was dry, Cees handpainted all the smileys with glaze. The vase was fired for the second time around 1200 degrees.

This vase is now ready to last hundreds of years.

The vase is made with stoneware ceramics.

Size

This vase is circa 28 cm tall. On the broadest part it’s 19 cm wide and the smallest part is 12 cm wide.
