Deep Waters is an original 1-of-1 painting emerging from childhood memory of collecting seashells on Ghana’s beaches; the seashells painted here were collected during her last trip. Containing an interior landscape where shells move through passages rendered as flowing curves, collapsing the boundary between inner and outer. What echoes from within, even when the exterior remains still? The body becomes a threshold where memory, presence, and the sea carried from childhood exist in constant motion.

How it's made / curated

This original work is part of her ongoing series Echoes from Within, developed from her studio practice in Rotterdam. The work emerges through intuitive painting grounded in close object study and photographing, translating that looking into form, colour, and curve. What begins as memory and presence becomes visible through the act of painting itself.
