A large Italian glass globe lamp, hand-blown in white mottled glass on a chrome and brass cylinder base. Originally made as a ceiling pendant. We replaced the wiring to make it work as a freestanding table lamp. Everything else is original.

The globe is hand-blown using a technique that traps white glass in organic, pebble-like clusters against a clear base. Sea foam, packed snow, take your pick. When lit, light filters through in warm patches. Completely different from when it’s off.

The chrome and brass details are characteristic of AV Mazzega’s 1970s production, when Carlo Nason served as the company’s sole designer. No maker’s mark present. Attributed based on form, materials and construction.

How it's made / curated

Every Studio Marigold piece starts with a buying trip, not a factory. We source mainly through Italy, plus trips across the rest of Europe, with finds from vintage markets, dealer warehouses, and the odd overlooked stock.

Nothing here is new. What we restore, we restore to bring a piece back to its original shape, not to change what it is. Original materials, original character, just brought back to working order where needed.

Once selected, every item gets checked, cleaned, and photographed in our studio before it’s listed. No mass production, no guarantee the same find ever turns up twice.
