The Catalan horizon. At first sight, a calm image, almost still, yet behind it lies a city overwhelmed by tourists every year. Barcelona has long been a stage for protest, debate and resistance against mass tourism. From 2028 onwards, the city aims to ban the rental of tourist apartments entirely, in an attempt to give everyday life more space again.

During this trip, I was reading La sombra del viento, or The Shadow of the Wind, by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. In the novel, Barcelona appears as a city of mist, shadows and hidden stories. That atmosphere shaped the way I looked at the city. The search for quiet places, backstreets and traces of an older Barcelona became the starting point for this photo series.

My photography often begins while travelling, walking or spending time in places that feel layered, quiet or slightly in between. I am drawn to landscapes, streets and everyday scenes where traces of memory, change and human presence are still visible.

Most of my work is made with analog photography techniques. Shooting on film slows down the process and gives the images a certain softness, texture and unpredictability. The act of photographing becomes part of the experience itself: observing, waiting, moving through a place and responding to what appears.

The locations vary from remote landscapes and small villages to urban edges, coastlines and places shaped by subcultures, history or transition. I am interested in how people live with their surroundings, and how a landscape can hold social, political and personal stories at the same time.

The people involved are often the people I meet along the way: residents, travellers, friends, strangers, or sometimes simply myself in relation to the place. Through these encounters, the photographs become small fragments of a larger story about attention, memory and being present.

The digital print is made using high-quality matte printing, ensuring vibrant colors and fine details. Each piece is printed on premium, matte paper designed to preserve the details and depth of the images.
