wongline is a jewelry brand creating one-of-a-kind pieces that combine upcycled materials, pearls, and metalwork into expressive cutting edge designs. Each piece is handmade and designed to draw attention and elevate everyday looks.
Her story
wongline was founded in 2020 in Berlin by Heidi Wong. Her practice began with upcycled plastic jewelry and later expanded into silversmithing and lampwork. After moving to Amsterdam in 2023 to study Fine Arts and Design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, her work evolved towards reworking vintage pearl jewelry through soft soldering and metalwork.
Now based in her studio in Amsterdam West, Heidi creates one-of-a-kind pieces shaped by a fascination with material histories, transformation, and personal expression.
“wongline jewels are always one of a kind, made to tell a story whilst adorning your body.”
Craftsmanship
wongline creates handmade necklaces, earrings, rings, and small interior objects. Inspired by oceanic and organic forms, each piece often features asymmetry, rich textures, and adjustable elements that allow for versatile styling.
Heidi primarily works with secondhand and vintage materials, including naturally formed pearls and mother-of-pearl, combined with silver, glass, and soft-soldered sculptural details with a spiky character.
All hardware is made from stainless steel or sterling silver, ensuring the pieces do not tarnish or transfer onto the skin. The soft soldered parts are made from a mix of silver and tin and are polished to be shiny and light-catching.
"As a one-woman business, I take time to put care into each piece to make sure it can be loved for a lifetime."
Sustainability
Sustainability is embedded in wongline’s practice through the use of vintage and recycled materials, small-scale handmade production, minimal and primarily recycled packaging, and recyclable printed materials. Each piece is designed to be long-lasting, with Heidi offering repair and remake options where possible, extending the life of materials while encouraging a more mindful relationship with the pieces.
Collaborations
wongline has collaborated with a range of local creative spaces and platforms in Amsterdam over the years. For example, since 2024, the brand has been stocked at Dream Unit, a store in Amsterdam. In 2025, wongline partnered with MODEFABRIEK to showcase selected pieces in a trend installation created in collaboration with VIEW magazine.
