Mia Rapava creates handmade bags and matching accessories, often using satin fabrics and ruched forms. From everyday bags to colorful statement pieces, each design is shaped by her hands-on approach to craftsmanship.
Her story
Mia Rapava was founded in 2024 by its namesake, Mia Rapava, and is based in Brno, Czech Republic. Mia always desired to create beautiful, almost art-like pieces that could be worn. What started with making a bag for herself gradually developed into a deeper passion and eventually a brand.
By experimenting with different fabrics, textures, and silhouettes, Mia developed her signature aesthetic and created the Nappe Bags collection. “La nappe,” meaning tablecloth in French, became a metaphor for something ordinary and familiar — a quiet companion that follows you through daily life.
"A bag is never just an object; it is an extension of the person carrying it."
Craftsmanship
Mia creates handmade bags under the collection The Nappe. Her latest collection, Candy, introduces colourful, glossy, and ruched bags shaped by her distinctive signature style. Every Mia Rapava piece is designed and handmade by Mia herself, allowing her to oversee every stage of the process, from material selection to final construction. The result is a collection of bags and accessories that reflects care, quality, and authenticity. Each bag is designed to feel personal, functional, and made to stay with its owner over time.
"What draws me to creating most is the feeling I have at the end of the process."
Sustainability
Fabrics are carefully sourced from local suppliers, while zero-waste pattern cutting is used whenever possible to minimise material waste. Working in small quantities allows for close attention to construction, finishing, and durability, maintaining a slower production process centred on quality rather than volume.
