Her story

Merlijn Fekkes started Magasin plus Couleur in 2022, during a trip to France. She was instantly captivated by the colorful vintage tableware she found there in abundance, yet rarely encountered in her home country, the Netherlands. Her own fascination with these unique pieces soon sparked the idea to share them with others.

What started in her 7-square-meter bedroom has since expanded into her own creative studio, storing hundreds of glasses, plates and much more. Magasin plus Couleur now also has a showroom that invites people to experience and shop the collection in person. Over the years, the business has grown from selling tableware to renting it out for events, and she’s just started a new chapter: event styling & set design.

Curation

All Magasin plus Couleur pieces are hand-sourced by Merlijn, primarily in France, guided by her love of color and eye for balanced combinations. Each item has lived a life before, and its lasting beauty is a testament to its quality. While all glassware and ceramics are carefully selected to be intact, stainless steel and silver-plated pieces may show subtle signs of age and use—marks that reflect their history and character.

As a vintage tableware brand, sustainability lies at the heart of Magasin plus Couleur. Believing that the most beautiful objects already exist, Merlijn stands against overconsumption and overproduction. Her mission is to give pre-loved items a new life, in true Magasin style.

Highlights

Over the years, Magasin’s tableware has been part of many special events. From birthday parties and weddings to brand activations for Merrachi, Caudalie, Susmies, Elle, &C, and many more.
