Their story

Salma Tabiat and Jade Hendriks founded Tafeltaal in 2025 in Nieuwe Niedorp. As sisters-in-law, they share a deep love for food, drinks, and gezelligheid—that warm feeling of being together around the table. Think long dinners, overflowing charcuterie boards, and tables filled with people. They believe there are countless beautiful pieces already in existence, often forgotten and gathering dust, waiting to be appreciated again. Tafeltaal was born from this idea: giving vintage and antique tableware and accessories a second life, and letting them shine again. Every item in their collection is carefully selected, reflecting their personal tastes.

Curation

From elegant glassware and ceramics to unique serving pieces and decorative details, every item is carefully selected to bring warmth, charm, and personality to the table. The collection is built through sourcing second-hand pieces from Belgium, France, and Germany, with a focus on objects that carry a story, showcase beautiful craftsmanship, and possess a timeless appeal. Before becoming part of the collection, each piece is thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and carefully photographed.
