Her Story
ROOS is a handmade bag label founded by Roos Koks in Amsterdam in 2020. What began after losing her favorite bag and deciding to recreate it herself, quickly evolved into a high-end brand rooted in craftsmanship, functionality, and thoughtful design. Working with carefully sourced fabrics — often deadstock materials — ROOS creates timeless bags designed for everyday use while adding something special to an outfit. Today, Roos collaborates with a small-scale atelier in Lisbon, focusing on design, material sourcing, and creative direction. With the collection already stocked in Hamburg, ROOS is continuing to grow across the Netherlands and beyond.

Craftsmanship & Curation
ROOS creates high-quality, practical, yet fashionable bags and accessories designed for everyday use. Best known for its timeless crossbody bags, the brand also offers shoulder bags, scarves, bandanas, scrunchies, and other carefully crafted essentials.
Each piece is designed by Roos in Amsterdam using hand-picked fabrics, often sourced from local fabric shops or selected deadstock materials. Products are either handmade by Roos herself or produced in a small-scale atelier near Porto, Portugal. Functionality is central to every design, combining spacious interiors and practical details with a refined, timeless aesthetic made to elevate everyday dressing.
I personally source all fabrics, and every item is made with the same level of care and attention to detail that defines the brand.'
Sustainability
Sustainability is at the core of ROOS. Fabrics are carefully hand-picked from local fabric stores, often using deadstock materials that are given a second life through the designs. Each piece is produced in small quantities to avoid overproduction and keep every item unique.
Many products are handmade by Roos herself or produced in collaboration with a small-scale atelier in Portugal, where a team of six women works under fair conditions and receives fair wages. To reduce environmental impact, orders are transported by road instead of plane, and all packaging and printed materials are recyclable and consciously sourced.
Collaborations & Highlights
Over the past year, ROOS has collaborated with several inspiring brands and companies. For example, Roos partnered with Amsterdam-based bakery Salvo’s to design a timeless and practical pastry bag. She also collaborated with Brouwerij ’t IJ, creating unique bags made from recycled beach chairs. And lastly, ROOS teamed up with The Cultivist to create a one-of-a-kind bag exclusively for their members and partners.
