Her story

Pippot is run by ceramic artist Pip Balhuizen, who first learned pottery while living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Under the guidance of her Japanese mentor—who emphasized precision and deep respect for the material—she learned to work with clay by understanding both its limits and possibilities. Her fascination with the natural properties of clay and its wide range of earthy tones only grew from there, leading her to start her own brand in 2024. Today, Pip focuses on hand-building techniques and creating graphic, meditative patterns in clay.

"I present a collection of handmade pottery crafted with care, color, and intention. Slow-made, one-of-a-kind, and ready to be part of your daily rituals.”

Craftsmanship

Pippot creates in a slow, intentional manner, honoring the rhythm of handcraft. Each piece is one of a kind, celebrating the natural beauty of clay. Pip works with nerikomi, a traditional Japanese technique that uses different colors of clay to create patterns within the clay body itself through layering, folding, and slicing.

"Every piece is made slowly and intentionally, honoring the rhythm of handcraft and the natural beauty of clay."

Sustainability

Sustainability is central to Pippot’s process, with clays sourced locally and reused at every stage to minimize waste. Any remaining clay can be fully composted, as clay is a natural product. Moreover, no additional chemicals are introduced, as Pip works with transparent glazes.
