Juul Lit is a graphic designer and illustrator. She transforms her digital designs and drawings onto colorful prints and wearable items. Her work is defined by clean lines and bright colors created both digitally and analogue.
Her story
Juul Lit is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Rotterdam. She officially started her brand in 2019, but her fascination with printed tees and merchandise runs much deeper: even before graduating with a degree in graphic design—where she created a project about souvenir shirts—Juul was already making custom shirts for friends.
Much of her work takes a critical look at how society is structured, while still keeping a playful tone. She also likes to draw small memories and moments—the kind that trigger nostalgia and make you wish you were somewhere else. Small reminders that not everything is broken, and that the world doesn’t always need to be analysed.
"My work takes a hard look at our society, but tries to keep it playful. If it makes you think about your own shit and maybe feel a little less separate from people different than you, good."
Craftsmanship
Juul creates illustrations and graphics featuring punchy, hand-drawn typography that translate social topics and memories into wearable merchandise such as tees, caps, scarves, and high-quality art prints. Each design begins on paper to capture the right energy and composition before being developed digitally.
Her clothing is either silkscreened by hand or printed locally by Dutch print shops. Her art prints are produced on premium heavyweight paper to preserve vibrant colors, with the option of a wooden frame with real glass for added durability. All items are hand-selected, packed, and shipped by Juul herself.
“Every item is hand-picked, packed, and shipped by me to ensure a refined, conscious, and personal product.”
Sustainability
Juul works primarily with GOTS- and GRS-certified textiles and uses eco-friendly screen-printing inks. Production is kept local where possible, supporting Dutch print shops and reducing transport impact. Orders are shipped in recyclable packaging to minimise environmental footprint.
