Aquarium Vintage is an Amsterdam based vintage store and brand. They curate 90s and Y2K clothing and accessories, offering a size-inclusive mix of statement pieces that stand out along with timeless gems.
Their story
Founded in 2020 by best friends Kiran Lemmens and Sam Eberhardt, the Amsterdam based Aquarium Vintage grew from a shared passion for high-quality vintage fashion and unique personal style. What began as a mutual love for collecting 90s and Y2K pieces evolved into a curated vintage brand built on commitment to quality, accessibility, and authenticity. Both online and in their store at De Clercqstraat in Amsterdam, Aquarium Vintage has created a space where customers can discover expressive, wearable and size-inclusive pieces that offer a thoughtful alternative to fast fashion.
“Every Aquarium item is handpicked with love, we’re always sourcing the best items for you.”
Curation
Aquarium Vintage curates a selection of high-quality 90s and y2k clothing and accessories, carefully chosen for their quality, character, and size diversity. They specifically look out for strong fabrics, clean finishes, and pieces with a timeless appeal. Their slow, hands-on approach ensures that customers find vintage that feels wearable, expressive, and made to last.
"We source each piece individually, choosing garments for their character, construction, and how they remain wearable beyond trends."
Sustainability
By giving existing garments a second life, Aquarium Vintage helps reduce the demand for new production and the environmental impact associated with it. Rather than relying on bulk purchasing, each item is individually sourced and selected with intention, resulting in a low-waste and highly curated process. By focusing on quality materials and well-made pieces that have already stood the test of time, they encourage a more conscious and long-lasting approach to fashion.
Highlights
A key part of Aquarium Vintage is the Y2K Vintage Collective, a recurring in-store event bringing together vintage and designer resellers alongside a growing community of collectors and enthusiasts.
Another milestone has been the brand’s physical store on De Clercqstraat 107, which has served as a dedicated space for curated vintage in Amsterdam for the past two and a half years.
