ALORA presents thoughtfully handcrafted natural wax candles and ceramics. Combining refined design with storytelling-inspired scents, each piece is created to spark joy and bring beauty and light into everyday living.
Her Story
ALORA was founded by Jessica dos Santos in 2024 in Amsterdam. The brand grew from a love of interiors, scent, and the small details that transform a house into a home. She began by hand-pouring candles in Amsterdam, carefully curating each scent to tell its own story.
Her practice quickly evolved into a refined brand of signature scented candles, refillable vessels, and ceramics designed to be both purposeful and beautiful. Each fragrance is created as a sensory journey inspired by memories, places, and emotions, reflecting Jessica’s belief that everyday rituals should feel meaningful. The name ALORA, meaning ‘shining light,’ reflects her vision of creating objects that bring warmth and beauty into daily life.
“Your home should feel like your sanctuary, it’s the space where you want to feel most connected to yourself."
Sustainable Craftsmanship
ALORA creates natural wax scented candles, refillable candle vessels, candle care accessories, and a collection of locally designed ceramics. Each scent is developed to tell a specific story and is free from parabens and phthalates.
Every candle is hand-poured in Amsterdam using a blend of 100% natural coconut and rapeseed wax, sustainably sourced in Europe. ALORA’s signature vessels are designed to be refillable, allowing them to be reused and enjoyed over time rather than discarded after each burn. ALORA’s goal is to create timeless products that are made to be treasured and reused for years to come.
"A candle might seem simple, but it can represent that moment of belonging and feeling at home in yourself.”
Collaborations with Artijaan
A milestone they are particularly proud of is their collaboration with Artijaan, a social enterprise showcasing handmade creations by artisans across South-West Asia and North Africa. ALORA partnered with them to create a special candle collection, pairing their signature scent blends with hand-blown glass vessels crafted by artisans in Herat, Afghanistan.
